UGANDA ICT IP GUIDELINES Guidelines for managing intellectual property rights of locally developed IT systems, Applications and innovations

The development of Uganda’s ICT Sector is a cornerstone of our national development strategy, as articulated in the digital transformation roadmap, vision 2040, and National development plan III. A key element of this strategy is harnessing the ingenuity of our local innovators to create and deploy cutting-edge ICT solutions. To truly unlock the transformative potential of this sector, we must provide a robust framework for protecting and leveraging the intellectual property (IP) that drives innovation. These guidelines of managing IP rights of locally developed IT systems, applications and innovations mark a significant advancement. They are the first of their kind in Uganda, offering a clear framework for protecting and leveraging the IP generated within our dynamic ICT eco system.
